Join in a unique adventure as we embark on a journey to paint primitive-style art! In this dynamic and inspiring class, you'll discover the joy of creating a vibrant and energetic painting acrylic paint. Students will learn techniques to capture the essence of their own version of a cityscape, a pastoral garden, folk style landscape, and a dreamscape. We'll use bold lines, expressive forms, layering, and vibrant colors. Students will explore painting in this unique folk method and will gain an appreciation for primitive-style painting. No experience is necessary.

Primitive Painting Series

Painting with watercolor doesn't have to be difficult or stressful. In this class, you will relax into the process of creating a posy bouquet using wet-on-wet techniques. You'll use layering to develop the color and depth of a springtime flower bouquet. By blending and layering colors, you'll be amazed as the pigments flow. You'll finish your artwork by using inks to define the details.

 This hands-on creative workshop invites you to transform everyday discarded items into a unique, personalized treasure box. In this inspiring class, you’ll delve into the art of upcycling as you curate various found objects—old buttons, broken jewelry, vintage postcards, and more—and learn how to combine them into a stunning keepsake that tells your story. You'll explore techniques in collage, assembling, and embellishing, all while nurturing your imagination and resourcefulness. By the end of the session, you'll have a one-of-a-kind treasure box that reflects your personality and celebrates the beauty of reclamation, proving that something once deemed as waste can become a cherished heirloom.No experience is necessary.

*Students are encouraged to bring their own variety of found items and "junk" that may hold personal meaning such as broken jewelry or shards of china.* A stash of items will be available from which to choose but having personal tidbits will enhance your experience.

Charm bracelets are fun to make and fun to wear. You'll choose the charms and beads that speak to you and learn how to create a chain charm bracelet with dangle charms. You will need to bring a set of round nose jewelry pliers. All other supplies, including beads and charms, are provided.
