  In this class you’ll explore the charm and simplicity of primitive art as you design and paint your own version of a cityscape. Understanding the fundamental elements that define this unique artistic approach and examining its rich history and distinctive characteristics, you’ll develop your artistic skills but also gain a deeper appreciation for the expressive potential of primitive style. In this class, you’ll learn to create your own primitive style landscape as if seen from above. Think of viewing the ground from an airplane—large swathes of color, defined by roads, rivers, treetops. With guidance and examples, you’ll paint your own primitive style landscape and discover the joy of making naïve art through a hands-on, expressive approach.   In the class Introduction to Creating Art with Gelli Plates, you will learn how to use Gelli plates to create unique and textured artwork. Explore various techniques for applying paint, using plants and incorporating other textures to create one-of-a-kind mono prints. Take home your monoprint masterpieces ready to incorporate into mixed media artworks, art journals, scrapbooks, collages, greeting cards, and other artful uses or ready-to-mat and frame artworks. Creating Art with Gelli Plates
