  Travel Art Journal is a 4 session class to be held July 9, July 23, August 13 and 

August 27 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. This  is designed for travel enthusiasts who want to enrich their experiences and preserve their memories through visual art journaling. Participants will learn innovative techniques to capture the essence of their adventures, combining traditional journaling with artistic expression. Participants will receive a journal to work in and will be given multiple prompts and suggestions to have the best success at art travel journaling.

This engaging session invites you to unleash your artistic side while capturing the joy and wonder of your adventures. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or planning your next getaway, you'll learn techniques to document your journeys and explorations with creativity. You’ll learn a variety of methods for transforming your memories into a colorful keepsake that reflects not just the places you’ve visited but the specific situations, people, events and activities that made those memories so valuable to you. Come ready to explore new artistic techniques, share your passion for travel and connect with fellow adventurers in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. 

Suggested supply list: 

1. Photographs, maps, ephemera (postcards, ticket stubs, receipts, menus, hotel or activity brochures etc. that you have collected from a trip)

2. Bucket list of places they want to travel to either locally, regionally, nationally or worldwide—can be handwritten, can be organized by categories, can be typed up…however they want to bring it

3. Any loose paper sketches or paintings you've made while visiting a location

4. Any poems you've been inspired to write or info on famous people who came from the place(s) they visited

5. Anything else you have collected that can lay flat related to a particular travel trip

All other supplies will be provided.

Join us for a creative journey in our "Alcohol Ink Necklaces" class, where you'll explore the vibrantly colorful world of alcohol ink art while crafting stunning wearable art necklaces. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn to manipulate alcohol inks on a substrate, achieving mesmerizing abstract designs through techniques such as blending, lifting, and masking. We'll guide you through the processes of selecting and preparing your materials, dropping, layering, and activating transparent inks. Then you’ll have the choice to add and reactivate your piece with silver and gold-colored metallic inks. We’ll seal your artwork to ensure durability. Once your spectacular inked components are ready, you'll master the basics of jewelry construction by learning to curate and assemble beads to highlight your inked focal piece, using metal findings and chain. By the end of the class, you'll leave with a uniquely designed necklace, complete with your personal touch, plus the skills to continue creating beautiful wearable alcohol ink jewelry art at home!

Students should bring their own round nose jewelry pliers. All other supplies will be provided. Aprons and gloves will be available. These inks do stain, so students may want to wear clothes that it’s okay to get messy.
