Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are the same size as sports trading cards. These miniature artworks are created by artists and intended to be traded to other artists in a one-to-one exchange. The Artist Trading Card Club is hosted by The Creative Arts Club. Swaps are published via a weekly newsletter delivered directly to your email inbox. You can choose to participate in one or all of the published swaps so long as you follow each swap's guidelines and meet the mail-in dates for the swaps. Our swap host will randomly mix the artist trading cards up to send back to you within two weeks of the swap deadline. Each swap requires three (3) unique individual cards based on the requirements, theme and/or mediums of that swap. Each artist submitting cards will receive three cards in return.
Many artists find that creating on small substrates is a challenge, but over time they come to genuinely enjoy the process of creating small works of art. All artists should realize that there are different levels of skills, talents and art knowledge in our membership and while we ask our artists to work carefully and do "best' possible work but also to be kind, generous and gracious as our artist cards are made by people of all ages and all walks of life.
Join the ATC Club now to activate your membership and begin getting the newsletters with the upcoming swaps so you can start making your cards.
In this class, students will learn about the history and purpose of artist trading cards (ATCs), a popular form of mini art created and freely exchanged among artists worldwide. Participants will explore various techniques and mediums for making their own unique artist trading cards, including collage, painting, and mixed media. By the end of the class, students will have a collection of original cards to trade with classmates and take home as a start to their own collection of ATCs, with opportunities for future trades.
$30 per person all supplies included.
